This is the costume of a rare tribe in the state Andhra Pradesh in India. The headgear is a highlight and the dancers smear ash over their body , abstain from bathing and materialistic pleasures for a month before this dance is performed . This dance is said to be performed to appease the rain god and for prosperity.

A humble request to fellow AminUsers .. please rate the pictures of the aminus3 photoblogs you visit using the 'stars' rating on the right to the photo. It would really help the owner of the blog to improve his/her photography based on the feedback of the rating . Verbal comments and criticisms are even more appreciated , but the star ratings are really easy and quick to finish. :)
